Walking Fest 2014

Cahersiveen - Skellig Walking Fest took place over the last weekend in October and was a great success. On the 2 days there were 2 walks to choose from each day. On the Saturday the 2 walks where the Cnoc na dTobar to Kells or the Beentee Loop. Every one decided to go on the Cnoc na dTobar - Kells walk. At 10 o'clock in the morning they all assembled at the Marina and a coach came to take them to the foot of the Cnoc na dTobar. They then went to the top of that mountain and onto Kells. There they were met by the coach which brought them back to the Marina where they had hot drinks and warming soup.

On the next day the walkers were given the choice of going on the Drung Hill walk or the Dulus Head Sli Naomh Fhaol walk. All the walkers had decided to go on the Drung Hill walk, that was from Kells to Glenbeigh.

Thank you to everyone involved in the walk from the guides who were very knowledgeable to the caterers who provided the hot drinks and soup to the organisers of the walk.. Most of all though thanks to you, the walkers. Without you the walk would not have happened!

2 comments after the walk portrayed the feeling entirely. Those were 'PERFECT' and 'MORE PLEASE!'

Here are some photographs taken by one of the walkers. Just click on the photograph for full size.
