On the first floor there is space devoted to Daniel O'Connell, probably the most important person in Irish political history. His influence and deeds were so wide that they are still being felt through out Ireland, Europe and the world in general. Daniel O'Connell is as important to Ireland as George Washington is to the United States of America.

There is also the local history, Carbery castle, the stone forts, the local drag hunting but to name 3 fascinating topics not forgetting the local heros amongst them Hugh Flaherty, the Scarlett Pimpernel of the Vatican.

Between the ground and first floor there are photographs of the sporting achievements of Cahersiveen, Gaelic football, cycling, drag hunting and all the other sports Cahersiveen has! The town actually boosts no fewer than 3 rowing clubs!
